About YourBrainLens
Psychology explained in plain English
YourBrainLens is an educational psychology website for students, writers and curious readers. We cover how the mind works, personality, mental health and wellbeing, and the degrees and careers in the field.
Who Runs This Site
Written by a psychology student
YourBrainLens is written by Ayeza, a psychology student. I'm not a licensed psychologist or therapist, and I don't claim to be. I started this site to turn what I'm learning into clear, well-sourced guides that other students and writers can use. You can read more on my author page.
Why It Exists
Why I started YourBrainLens
Many psychology articles online are either too technical for beginners or too shallow to be useful. As a student, I wanted a place that explains ideas simply, links to real sources, and shows where the evidence is limited. I hope it helps other students study, and helps writers check their facts.

Research & Corrections
How articles are researched
Articles draw on peer-reviewed research and established organisations such as the APA, NIMH and WHO. Where an article cites a statistic or study, it links to the original source. Articles show a last-updated date, and older posts are reviewed and revised over time. The full process is on the Editorial Policy page.
Found a mistake? Email contact@yourbrainlens.com. I review every report and correct the article as soon as I can.
